I got to be honest, this week on DealerELITE kicked my butt! Every day had a little something different going on; not to mention overhauling dE. One of the coolest things is (of course) reaching 6000 dE members! Even though it's a great thing to see, I still think there could be more interaction. We constantly look at how the site performs and always want to bring the best opportunities to the members. However, I wonder if we're really benefiting the entire dE community... not sure.

What does the future hold for DealerELITE? It's an interesting question. I was talking with one of the industry leaders of social media today about this very topic. The mission Chris and I have is to provide a forum to help each other become better, as well as our beloved auto industry as a whole. We see a lot of training material such as overcoming objections, dealership processes, best practices, etc. But this information is everywhere, so why do we come to DealerELITE? What is dE's identity? This in a way is very exciting though because it's the members who make it what it is. We just want to make sure there's a purpose for dE in the future. We keep feeling conference, good idea?

One thing Chris and I have discussed (briefly), is the idea of giving the option to accept donations. You may not know, but DealerELITE is "self-funded" in that WE pay out of our own pockets to bring dE to the masses. You thought the advertisers paid us didn't you??? The advertisers paid in helping dE grow. However, we're still contemplating the idea.

Thinking of a contest for a background image for the new DealerELITE look. What do you think...?

Mike and Chris have your own conference some place. Charge a reasonable fee for admission and vendors. You have a lot of really good people on here. I think it would be special if the conference { SPEAKERS ] covered a lot of different topics so there would be something for everyone. People don't mind paying for something as long as it benefits them. You guys have a lot to offer.
From my perspective, dealerELITE is in it's early stages of development and yet so far along in membership. The talent, membership and continual active participants says everything about the positive direction dE is headed.

I would have to guess that once an individual signs up here, the seed alone has been planted with an understanding of networking opportunity and most importantly the abundance of training material from the best and the brightest. At minimum, people know where to return for tips - dE!

There are some who spend much of their time on the computer, and most are busy living lives away from the computer, even as necessary and popular as social networking is - again in the early stages.

On a personal note; I enjoy starting most of my days or ending them with dealerELITE. What can I say, I'm a car guy, and I hold the members on here in the highest of regards and especially the co founders who made it all possible.

Without question, a profit for time invested in creating and maintaining the Hottest Automotive website on the planet should be looked into.

dealerELITE - Thank you for all of the inspiration, motivation and education!~ B.C.

Keep on Rocking The Roll..........

I joined dE when they had the big membership drive and gave away trips to Hawaii for registering.  On my trip I got sun-poisoning and bit by some tropical spider that made me blow snot bubbles for a week.  So all-in-all, it's a great site.  Been able to connect with many like minded car guys and gals that I never would have otherwise.  Always good to see new contributors and to get feedback on my own posts.  Keep up the awesomeness guys!  Love all your stuff.

Mike, I am very impressed with what you have done with Dealer Elite.  But sometimes I am not sure if the word "Elite" is over-emphasized.  You have a "draw" of thousands of industry people and yet, only the "elite" trainers are heard.  If you disagree and challenge the "elite", you can be stifled from even responding.

We constantly look at how the site performs and always want to bring the best opportunities to the members. However, I wonder if we're really benefiting the entire dE community... not sure.

Don't be afraid of controversy and disagreement. That is what makes life (and blogs) interesting. You are media. Media thrives on disagreement, as does democracy. Is anyone above criticism of their ideas? I think not. Let the readers decide.

Don't censor or prohibit ideas and opinions you don't agree with or you think are disrespectful. And don't let inidvidual contributors "approve/disapprove" the comments to their articles. Let the crowd do that.

This is a very worthy venue I would hate to see disappear. But open it to everyone in the industry, not just the elite "speakers and trainer".
