A major problem for employers today is getting the best employees and then keeping them. How do you do this? By understanding what it is employees really want. Being able to sense what others feel and want .Here is a list of ten things employees say they want, I have listed them in alphabetical order, organize this list... in the order YOU think employees view as most important to least important to THEM! Have fun.

I've found that most Salespeople want Leadership. We are the least trained Industry in the World. Our Management are the least traiined people in our Industry. Logical Deduction: Automotive Sales Management people the least trained personnel of any Industry in the World.

No training on how to "Manage". Lesson that needs learned the MOST, is that you LEAD People and you MANAGE Process!

Management doesn't understand this Concept. They don't know how to implement "best practices", manage their Salespeople to "execute" the processes, nor do they know how to "lead" them as a "Team Director"/"Coach".

All most do is treat their Salepeople in a condescending manner, not realizing that when a person feels good about themselves and what their doing, they produce good results, and vice versa.

I sold cars for over 20 Years and the one thing I wanted to feel is "Wanted" if I felt the dealership I worked for didn't need me or even wanted me there, I was out!
Just my personal feeling!
The other thing I loved, is when a dealer would call me and say," Manny" I need you can I send a your New Demo over to you now!

Craig...

This is what I would want... #1 full appreciation is a must for me #2 Feeling involved is very important #3 Job security makes you comfortable #4 Good wages keep you there #5 Interesting work... I must love what I do #6 Promotion/ growth opportunity is more along the growth side for me. All I have ever wanted to be is a trainer. #7 Personal loyalty to workers... those I work with I consider friends #8 Good working conditions are somewhat important but not necessary if I have a goal to accomplish #9 Tactful discipline doesn't matter because I stay out of trouble and understand that high D's get over it quickly #10 Sympathetic help/ personal problems... although I would give it... I have yet to need it.

Craig, this reminds me of your previous conversation on "Did you buy em dead or kill em later?". If these lists aren't in the same order then a leader isn't listening and will eventually "kill em dead".
