Thank you Dan you hit it spot on..."Dominate Buying Motive"...we are all "Motivated" by two basic feelings...avoid pain, seek pleasure,,,so when we know what brings that salesperson pleasure or help them avoid possible pain....well success is more likely to happen!

Well there you go, it doesn't take a bunch of time to say a bunch to a person and get a bunch back from them! What happens then is you 'Pay That Forward"..teach others to be that way and ...well change can happen.

A dealer I worked for many years ago, who actually reminded me a lot of you, Craig, took me upstairs in the conference room my very first day at the dealership... He took a marker and wrote in big bold red letters across the dry/erase board, "I Care about YOU!" He then sat down with me and with great sincerity asked me where I wanted to be in 5 years, 10 years and 20 years down the road. He asked me what exactly motivated me to excel in my profession. Then he said, if you are going to work for me in a management role, I want you to be a coach, an advocate and a compassionate leader to everyone who works here... (There were over 100 employees and I was Comptroller, but more like a GM.) He further stated that I would park in the back of the lot with everyone else and walk through the body shop door every morning, walk through service, parts, rental and leasing, proceed through the general office, out to the showroom before landing in my office to say good morning to every employee! This was probably the best lesson I ever received in the business!
