Second best is as good as second to last!!

We all have our dreams and goals. Sometimes they are a long way out of sight and we know, deep inside, it's going to take a long time to get there. So perhaps it's best to settle for something that's less than perfect rather than struggling for something that may be unattainable? Yes, we all think this way at times but It implies failure: a weakness on one's part to achieve some aspiration.

Never settle for second best when the BEST is out there waiting. Keep this in mind when hiring people. Never settle for an "ok" personality, keep it in mind when you are selling that car, NEVER settle for less than offering that customer THE BEST BUYING experience of their life. If you attempt to give your all and your BEST at every single given time and with every single aspect of work and or personal goal setting - You are about to realize how great and successful you are about to be. I think that we all at times forget, we all get caught up in life and moments that we give in on way too many occasions and accept less and expect less. Expect the most! Do the most!! Out sell and out live the rest!!

Fran - Thank you for your view and respected opinion :-)  Yes! If you do not hit your goal or a sales person does not hit the goal does NOT mean they are a "looser". I agree with your vision on sales etc. but my statement and thinking is geared towards aiming to be the BEST every single moment of the day. Aiming to sell 22 cars but selling 15 if you did do your best does not mean you stand at the end of the line. As long as the drive to be number ONE is always present and fierce , that alone does feature great SUCCESS VISION for the individual or company. I see so much more that the drive one person or individual has, communicate and live daily has been "lowered" to "oh, well if I sell 4 more Ill be ok". Sales people that never settle for the "ok" and always strive and are driven to be number 1 - even if they dont end up with the trophy - ALWAYS succeed and is what makes a dealer a super store compared to an average store. We cannot all be number one Fran, yes :-) Even when we all would like that spot, but the drive to be always First and always no. 1 is what makes that sales guy, me and you stand out as winners. ( quoting Charlie Sheen off course ).

Its a mind set and a personality trade that is one that will and could never be mistaken for someone that is second to last. Thanks for your view! I am no veteran like most, but I can tell you that I have seen and learned and continue to learn the "what it takes" to be Successful.

Just ask Ricky Bobbie..."If your not first, your last!"  I might not always hit my mark but I start each day believing I will.  Great to see others have the same mind set.  Thanks, Lizelle!!!!

Second isn't a bad thing and it doesn't mean your last. If you don't hit your goal doesn't mean you are a failure. It means you didn't hit your goal thats all. If you didn't hit your goal you don't always have to do something different to hit your next goals. I think thats why a lot of people fail because of the you have to be number one idea . Humbug.                                                                                                                                                      I  I would rather have a guy sell 22 cars and be second rather than a guy selling 15 and be number one. If we wanted to have the most money in all the world , does that mean the rest of the world sucks? Of course not. I would love to be second in that department. Just saying. Thanks
