Jim Ziegler asks...
I am hearing a lot of discussion about True Car and ZAG. I continually scratch my head and wonder if desperate dealers are doing the marketing limbo "How Low Can You Go?"
Are we so bad at what we do that we have to line up and pay vendors to lose money? AND, who is giving these people access to your data that is used against you?
Who owns these companies and what might be their ulterior motive? Sometimes I ask questions to which I already know the answer.
Am I wrong?
What do you think... JIM

Comment by Jim Kristoff on December 1, 2011 at 4:33pm @Joe.....Keith and I were speaking earlier today on the phone about it.
I truly believe the vast majority of the Dealers do not understand the significance of the situation.
This understanding can ONLY come from information being passed onto the State Associations and then onto NADA......
I believe the NADA needs to hear this loud and clear at the next convention!!
If Jim Ziegler can get a "sounding board" for the concerns of the dealers....I think it can pick up some great steam.....
Comment by Keith Shetterly on December 1, 2011 at 4:31pm @ Joe, you've "heard" the initial rumblings from Alpha Dawg's contacts in the nearly 10,000 page views for this thread. That's unheard of and unprecedented, by many, many factors, attention to an issue. I expect to hear back from Jim on this thread soon, hopefully later today.

Comment by Keith Shetterly on December 1, 2011 at 3:51pm @ Joe, wait until you get someone who HAS a trade AND then you face TrueCar's www.ClearBook.com, which also uses the dealers' data on used cars . . . you'll be in a vice where you cannot win, both in profit and in CSI.
Comment by Jim Kristoff on December 1, 2011 at 3:48pm @Joe.......everyone loses in this scenario.....except Painter and TrueCar.........
