A "twenty something" couple came into the dealership on Tuesday. Great kids...I follwed the steps of the sale and landed her on the perfect car. We negociated and came to an agreement. My finance manager was off that day, so the desk manager ran the credit and decided that my customer needed a cosigner and sent them packing! I thought about it all night long. On Wednesday, I went to the desk manager and asked him if I could have a look at the deal jacket. He said, "Did you get the…

I had a customer yesterday that was very hot for a 2011 Prius V. I demoed them, test drove and wrote them up. All was settled until we got to the value of thier trade. He had an 2001 Crown Vic with 98000 miles on it...could not get over the objection of HIS opinion and value of his trade. I tried everything. Where you don't let rude or mean customers that no matter what you say, they are going to be upset type? It's been helpful to decide not to take things personally in this male dominated industry that is full of customers who decided a long time ago that car dealers…

I am a female salesperson trying to make a living in the Automotive Business. I find myself doing well at disarming customers and now I'm working on holding gross in the deals I do. I'm not afraid to ask for the sale but keeping control is a little more difficult with a dominant customer...any ideas?

Here is Business Rater's elevator:

Bobby Compton said… I lived in Coos Bay for some years in my youth, went to Bunker Hill Elementary and Millicoma middle school.
I was there about 2 years ago, I hadn't been there for over 20 years. Not much changed, still a beautiful town!
I would prospect downtown, hit the shops, xchange business cards and pass out flyer's!
Truly a local community opportunity for selling!~
