Small businesses and owners SHOULD understand the importance of branding! What is branding? It is everything your company does or doesn’t do. Influenced, evaluated, judged, compared in the minds of your audience every given moment of the day. This DOES NOT mean that your spending budget needs to double, or you need to get a second mortgage on your home. How about offering the BEST, most Exceptional, Unforgettable customer experience with some outstanding character? Not just be the…

We have been working with salespeople, managers, service staff, and business development representatives for many years now. All of the people we work with including sales and service managers at dealerships understand the importance of multiple phone numbers.
If you had multiple phone numbers for every customer, could you reach more customers in a day?
Would you sell more cars and set more service appointments?
Then why is it that when you get a customer on the…

I wanted to share some feedback I received from our Chicago Pitstop.
One of the dealers said to me that not only was the education some of the best he received, but the fact that he could bring multiple people from his dealership for less that the price of going to a larger conference was priceless.
His team was able to attend all 12 workshop session and he was so excited for the knowledge his team will be able to bring back to their dealership and impact production…

If you’re anything like me, you know the wonderfulness that comes with a weekend. Now, of course some dealerships are open on Sundays, but in some states (Hi, New Jersey!) it is illegal for car dealers to be open. Or, at least the car lot. Thankfully, there isn’t a restriction on websites being open, yet. It’s…

Many new car dealers know that something is not right with their service departments or for that matter with their dealership business model as a whole. Customer loss rates are at all time high, "Right To Repair" legislation is seemingly hanging over like a "sword of Damocles" and profits margins are shrinking across the board. I bet in almost every franchised new car dealership, management meetings are being held to discuss how to tackle these challenges and I can imagine the nature of some…

I'm posting an email that my friend Shaun Kniffin (from the Germain Group) sent earlier today. He's an avid bicycle rider and will be participating in a 100 mile trek created to raise money to help in the fight to end cancer.
The ride takes place 100 days from now. He's raised more than $2,000 toward his personal goal of $10,000.
You can learn more about the cause by clicking…

Business has begun to pick up. You've lost some people due to the previous year's slow down. You've added a franchise. You want more coverage. All of these are legitimate reasons to begin a hiring campaign to add sales people to your team. But, other than the cost of advertising, are you prepared for the "real hidden cost" of hiring?
There are two directions to take when beginning a campaign. You can go for experience or you can train new salespeople in the style of…

People love to talk about the ways that search engines determine their rankings. I always advise our clients to stay away from trying to find "the edge of the algorithm" or any practices that are manipulative because of the risk these tactics carry, but the search engines continue to have many limitations on what they can do, and how they interpret what they see.
Therefore it is prudent…

Appreciation: (n) an expression of admiration approval, or gratitude
I was sitting in my loft office (Yes, it's very necessary for me to call it this. It makes me feel pretty. Pretty awesome.), and one of my clients' relatives came into the office. He said, "You know, Joey really loves your…

I woke up to an e-mail from my awesome boss and president of the company that I work for. He asked me where I've been, if I was working somewhere else, and what was going on. Basically he was feeling (rightfully) ignored.
It made me take a step back and realize that yes, there were some technical errors on my end, yet the bottom line was that I offer…

We’re a live chat company. Just in case the name of the product (CarChat24) didn’t give it away, I just thought I’d state the obvious. What do you think about us?
Be honest.
Let’s say 100 people claimed we…

Jerry first entered the automotive business as a sales representative in July of 1985 for a Subaru dealership in Waterville, Maine. By August of that year Jerry had been fired. His General Manager told him, “son, you just don’t have what it takes to make it in this business.”
After his less than prosperous start in the automotive industry,…

I kind of fell into the automotive business. A friend of a friend had a position open in a BDC of a car dealer selling Suzuki and Isuzu. I left a collection agency where I was selling the idea of paying a bill to go to the automotive business where I was selling the idea of making and keeping an appointment to meet with a salesperson.
I started at the bottom, making phone calls to leads, setting appointments, tracking shows and sales. Then, we brought on a consultant who…
