If you're a dealer not satisfied with current performance, these ideas may be useful.

Honesty and Ethics Rankings

A November 2010 Gallup poll asked consumers to rate the level of honesty and ethics of various professions. Nurses, military officers and pharmacists were at the top. Lobbyists and car sales people were on the bottom. (See graph below) There are many highly honest, ethical and good dealers in the business, yet these polling results have…

  • 8% of customers agreed

Why would 92% of customers say their interactions were not outstanding?…

I was fortunate to sit in a dealership advertising planning meeting. Participants included the Dealer Principal, GSM, Internet Manager and representatives from the ad team. All of whom are good folks. However, I have been a bit critical about the efficacy of recent cable ads. This most recent planning meeting did nothing to change my opinion.

After the primary agenda items were addressed, I had the opportunity to engage the ad team members. Although I am definitely not a…

Bill wants to raise the bar on recruitment and selection, training, leadership, processes and sales. His ales initiative is the focus of this article.

Bill shared with his management team all operational date. The Service, Parts and Body Shop Managers pored over inventory costs, gross profits, process maps and… Continue

Thanks for signing up Ron. I look forward to our talk next week. Please pass this site on to the other guys. I need their votes. We've made up a lot of ground this week but are still 26 votes behind. Remind them that after they register, they must still go back and vote.

Take care,

Dave

Training New Hires - It's Not About Money, It's About Being a Decent Human Being
