C.S.I.

With the advent of Social - Media why are U.S. Auto Companies still pouring Millions of Dollars down the "Black H***" of C.S.I. Survey Programs ???? This is a Dinosaur approach completely ineffective & a total waste of resources. Dealership level "Time Current Concern Rectification Plans " must be in place 24/7/365. Manage Now, Market Later

There’s a proverbial saying that when it comes to the car business, “There is no tomorrow,” which means your best opportunity to make a sale is the customer seated in front of you, right now. I remember my first month in the business, I literally had a notebook full of names and notes of customers who promised me they would be back-15 years later,…

How to stay TOP OF MIND with Every Customer

With all the competition in the Automotive World and so many websites, targeted ads and retargeting display ads vying for consumer attention it seems harder than ever to know whether or not your customer will remember you.

How do you set yourself apart from the competition and stay in the customer's mind?

USE COMMON SENSE AND THINK ABOUT USING MOBILE TO CONNECT WITH MOBILE! Niesen did a study in November about Mobile Auto Shoppers and it showed that 49% of…

Why notes are so critical

I have repeatedly been told by sales personal that they do not need to mark there deals sold because the system automatically does it. I have also heard this is why some customers are not logged.

This is on premise a horrible idea that you are relying on technology alone to give you one of your best contacts you will have.

I want you to consider something. This person liked you, the dealership, and the deal so much that they invested thousands of dollars with you.…

Fixing the traffic problem at your dealership with the Next Up

Good morning Dealer Elite members,

I had the opportunity a few weeks ago to speak with one of our clients who has been using the Next Up system and combining it with the Proactive BDC we set up several years ago.

Of course I had a few questions for him.

The first question was how did his salespeople and managers feel about it and more importantly did they fight it or blow back.

The surprising thing he said is they not only embraced it right away it… Continue

Were you busy today? Building a Business within a Business V

So were you?  Many people I have discovered over the years come to the dealership, work their shift taking ups... and are upset at the end of the day if they have not sold a car... There really is no surprise is there?  Standing around all day and shooting the breeze with each other.... I mean, what sales person is going to buy from you?

There really is so…

Returned to being a product demonstrator for Soda Stream

I used to be a product demonstrator for Soda Stream last spring in 2011 and I had fun talking about the product and meeting every skeptical question dead on with a great answer. Soda Stream is a product where you make your own seltzer with compressed CO2 and add soda and seltzer flavors. I just started up again this Saturday, March 17 2012 and fell right back into the old routine and was just as knowledgeable and…

3 Car Sales Success Keys from the Sports Arena

As a certified sports nut, I love big-time game-changing plays – the “Hail Mary” pass to win the game as the last seconds tick off, and the three-pointers from 'Downtown' at the buzzer, those remarkably bold plays that lift fans out of their seats...

We can learn much about sales success strategies from those who have and continue to lead their teams to championships in the sports arenas and on the fields across this great nation.

Consider the discipline,…

Process and Accountability: Why 'In your face' comments from customers can help sell more cars right now'

A friend shared a story about his pastor, who, wanting honest "In your face" feedback about his sermons, invited two close friends to lunch, gave each a pad of paper and pencil and invited them to “unload" with comments about the things that they did not like about his sermons.” They did.

As difficult as honest feedback usually is to hear, isn’t a truthful assessment of how others perceive us, (personally or as a business), valuable information to…

Why Pavlov should be your Internet Manager to hire and to nurture...

Russian physiologist Ivan Pavlov famously tantalized his dogs by ringing a bell to alert them that food was about to be served. The dogs, soon wise enough to associate the sound of a tinkling bell with a big juicy steak, began to salivate each time the bell tolled.

This associated behavior is known as “classical conditioning,” and the parallel between the doghouse and the dealership cannot be clearer. Obviously, the incoming…
