R U a Noun or Verb Christian?

What is your faith like...is it a noun, a thing, or a verb, something in action to which others might point and remark there is something "different" about you.

This is not an academic exercise. There is nothing that Jesus preached or His apostles wrote about faith and following Christ that is not verb-oriented. Yes, faith itself is a noun, but as James says, faith without works is dead. Please do not read this to mean works = salvation. Scripture is very clear that salvation is by faith alone.

So, what do we mean by being a Verb Christian? Is it attending church or tithing or donating time and money to charity...or taking care of an elder relative? These are all good things we all should do, if presented with the opportunity. Church attendance by itself simply says the individual attends church -- it reveals nothing about their changed heart, their obedience to Christ's commands or their submission of their ego/themselves/stuff/TV/sport/business to God and to others (especially their spouse).

Good afternoon..

I have been raised in the church since I was a little boy. Sure I have back-slid and recommitted my Life several times. I am back in the word and would like to teach my wife about the Trinity. My wife was catholic but really has no idea who Christ is. We started going to church together and I feel it still hasn't touched her yet. We just had a baby 7 months ago/married 4 months before that. I have faced many challenges in the workplace and relationships. I feel that my biggest challenge is to teach my wife about Jesus. Any suggestions ??

2 Corinthians 9:10 – enlarge the harvest of your righteousness
Now he who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will also supply and increase your store of seed and will enlarge the harvest of your righteousness. – 2 Corinthians 9:10
Do we see that God provides for us in order to provide for others? Sometimes the greatest test for us is when we have abundance. How will we use the resources that God has given us? Are we willing to sow out our seed and give our food? Many Christians have missed great harvests because they used their seed upon themselves.

Jesus taught to love our enemies, yet He spoke of the one that can never be loved. Otherwise, he should be hated, fought, and destroyed. This is our enemy – Satan/devil/sin/flesh.

5. Spiritual Greatness

“You know that the rulers in this world lord it over their people, and officials flaunt their authority over those under them. But among you it will be different. Whoever wants to be a leader among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first among you must be the slave of everyone else. For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many.” (Mark 10:42-45)

4. The Most Important Commandment
“Teacher, which is the most important commandment in the law of Moses?”
Jesus replied, “‘You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. A second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ The entire law and all the demands of the prophets are based on these two commandments.” (Matthew 22:36-40)

3. How To Treat Others
“Do to others whatever you would like them to do to you. This is the essence of all that is taught in the law and the prophets. (Matthew 7:12)
