Automotive Advertising Agencies And Technology Vendors Consolidate Along With The Auto Industry

The consolidation of the auto industry was in response to free market conditions reacting to a weakening economy accelerated by government intervention that many believe went beyond the rules of law. The impact on auto dealers and the businesses that served them in their surrounding communities was immediate as they were shuttered by the thousands. Automotive advertising agencies and technology…

Are We Going To Be Remebered As The First Generation To Do Worse Than Our Parents?

I ran across some interesting data that had been gleaned from the US Department Of Commerce. Seems like a person can find out how many cans of spam are consumed to how much the median household pays for a pair of

shoes from 1930's to 2009. All these figures are adjusted for inflation. Here is an explanation of what has happened to us from 1970 to 2007 or so. Much of

the discretionary items we Americans spend our money on seems to be less today

than the things…

When to make the Hard Decisions in a Dealership

Every week I am in a Dealer and have found certain things to be true for those that are successful and those that are not.

In Dealers that are successful, they make the hard decisions.

The gather information, investigate, counsel with whom they need to and decide. Once that decision is made, it is broadcast to everyone it needs to be and implemented immediately.

In Dealers that are struggling, this process is broken.

Most often, they make no… Continue

20 Group Composites...??????

I am sure most of you know what a 20 group is...

I am wondering what you all feel are IMPORTANT benchmarks for an "Internet Sales 20 Group"??

For example:

* How Many Leads?

* What kind of leads... Internet email Vs. Internet Phone Ups?

* What is the source of the leads?

* How many attempts did you try to engage prospect per month... via email... via phone?

* How many connections per month…

Everybody wants to be good but Nobody want to learn how!

When I sold cars and there was no internet I had to learn to master the phone better then anyone in the store. I wanted all the phone ups, it did not matter what car they were looking for or any price range they called in at. I wanted to be the one to help them find the car they were looking for. I always got the number to follow up and always promised that I would find the perfect car for them. I dont ever remember negotiating over the phone about a price.…

What is a Trade worth

Most managers think a trade has just a dollar amount.
Letting a trade go is worse than bad word of mouth.
What do u lose: 1. the new sale,2. the trade.3. the plate advertising
and the word of mouth. 4. the trade sells and u get another trade.
Do I need to go on...... Min 2 customer possibly 4 plus........
So make every opportunity not to miss a trade, it's not the car you are losing; It's the branch on the trunk of the tree.
