When it comes to sales management training for vehicle sales, I’m reminded of a quote I recently read by John Wooden, “The best leadership tool you have is to lead by example.” Every day I see people bending the rules to fit their desires. As Henry Ford stated, “If I had asked people what they wanted, they would have said faster horses.”
Technology changes in our industry faster than many of us can keep up with. It seems like new services and innovations pop up weekly. Do we know which innovations consumers are sure to like or not? Of course we don’t. We can’t actually know until they end up…

Everyone’s talking about the cost of health care these days. What does that have to do with an article in a magazine for successful dealers? Bear with me for a moment. Most dealers are of an age where it would benefit them to get an annual checkup. Suppose you wanted only the best and most accurate information and bypassed your regular doctor.
You visited an…

The Discovery Channel’s “Shark Week” has become a cultural phenomenon in our country. Sharks are relatively mysterious and most people don’t know much about them. Cars are very similar in nature. We know that we need them and which ones are cool, but most people don’t really know how they work. And not only that, as one in six vehicles on the road has open recalls…

An experienced car salesperson knows the value that a good used car can bring to their paycheck.
With car owners spending more time on the road and keeping their cars longer, used vehicles that are traded in today normally have more miles on the odometer than they used to. At the same time, most cars made in the last 20 years can remain in…

How true is that old saying, “If you do what you always did, you will get what you always got?”
Unless you want to stay locked in a world of mediocre success for the rest of your career, you need to change the way that you approach auto sales. If you are only selling 10 to 12 cars per month, you are not as successful as you can be! Hopefully…

These categories include family, close friends, business associates, colleagues and acquaintances. Most people tend to act differently depending on which group they are surrounded by at any particular moment. People may relax a little, be more…
