VW emissions scandal

The German car giant Volkswagen has admitted to cheating emissions tests in the United States; the scandal being dubbed the "diesel dupe".  The Environment Protection Agency (EPA) revealed that some cars being sold in the US defeat devices in diesel engines that could detect when the vehicles were being tested.  These devices changed the performance accordingly to improve the emissions results.  According to Germany's transport minister, Alexander Dobrindt, Volkswagen…
