Focus on Value, not Word Count with your Content

It may be the biggest change in the Google algorithm that very few people noticed. The reason they didn't notice is that the change has been slowly happening since February, 2011. Between Panda, Penguin, and the rise of social signals, word count of content is not…

The Internet Manager of 2013

Just the other day I was talking to a dealer that was looking for a new Internet Manager.  This is a small dealership that represents two up and coming franchises and sells about 100 units per month.  They have 2 Internet coordinators and are looking to add a manager.  The previous manager left to go work for a vendor for similar pay and less hours over a month ago.

Here is a dealership that has an internet department that is running with no process and no real idea…

Automotive Sales Training - The Death of the Traditional Dealership: Part 5

The average dealership hires a salesperson and, after a brief introduction of paperwork, allows the salesperson to begin talking to and selling to their customers. Some dealerships may send the salesperson to a meeting room to watch a series of perfunctory training videos and then cut them loose on the showroom floor to sell. Either way, the day of unleashing an untrained salesperson on a well-trained customer is dead.

The days of counting on a steady stream of traffic and…

Make Your Facebook Posts Stand Out with Better Pictures

Highlight

One of the most important components of a successful dealership Facebook page is pictures of happy customers. More dealers are doing it every day and they are seeing the results in improved engagement through likes, shares, and comments.

However, the increasing trend is also making it harder to stand out. With more of these pictures hitting Facebook on a regular basis, it's important to…

The small squads fought hard and terribly for days to take the hill from the enemy.  Standing, finally, at the top, weary to their bones, the hill they took is strewn below them with the awful results of warring, equipment and blasted debris everywhere, things still smoking.…

Another Lesson for NEVER Giving Up!

When you talk to some of the most successful people on the planet, what is the #1 reason most give for their "overnight" success?  All FAILED many times, they learned from the setbacks, BUT, they got back on the horse and NEVER GAVE UP!

The same is true for the most successful people in our business too.  They didn't quit when they had a bad day, a bad week, a bad month.  Funny how the law of averages always works in your favor if you just don't give up.  Stay the course and even…

Every Storm Runs Out of Rain

It's no secret that those of us who train for The Dealer Resource Group, spend a ton of time on the road.  A lot of windshield time can make you listen to anything on the radio to just hear some noise and stay awake.  That happened as I was driving 11 hours to get to our last assignment.
