Automotive Leadership & True Leaders
Now that the Grand Old Party is officially nominating their choice, Governor Mitt Romney, for President of the United States and current President Barak Obama is defending his record of leading the United States the last three years; we are faced with a decision to choose who best fit to lead our country.
America has a vast history of leaders who have embarked on the challenge which affects many lives from small businesses with less than five employees, large corporations with tens…

From the NCM Institute Blog: Focus on Vehicle Personalization (Revisited)
Normally I don’t receive my copy of Automotive News in south Florida from the U.S. Postal Service until Thursday or Friday. This week I was pleasantly surprised to find it in my mailbox on Tuesday. A couple of articles in the current issue (authored by Lindsay Chappell and Christina Rogers) inspired me to revisit the vehicle personalization… |

If Referrals Close At Higher Rates Than Internet Leads - Do You Want More Referrals?
One day a received a call from Paul Sansone Jr., a well known name in the New Jersey car business. He operates a dealership near my offices and he reached out to tell me about a new product he was developing for car dealers. I love entrepreneurial passion and Paul has leveraged his lifelong experience in the automotive industry with a cool new…

Great article, Greg! I’ve been singing in the same chorus, but it seems that other members are either staying home or remaining silent. Both reasons denote an underlying sense of fear or helplessness or ignorance of the real issues. It’s hard to change “old ways” but not impossible. Change is good.
However, too many F&I managers are still being lumped into the same crock of criticism; some deserve to be there, but many more don’t. The dealership…

Vanity URLs On Google+ May Not Be Free
Earlier this month, Google (specifically Google+) started rolling out vanity URLs. Before the vanity URL, you were identified by a long numeric string, not exactly a great thing to throw on a business card. The new vanity names are…

Social Media means nothing.....
...if you do not have the people to support it. Just about every type of business is involved in someway shape or form in promoting themselves through social media. Companies are spending record amounts of advertising dollars to be visible to the public. They want people to "like" them. They want to tweet them and so on.
Nothing is worse than getting customers to find you, only to find out that there's nobody to answer their question.
The customers of 5 years ago are gone.…

The psychology is described as trying to overcome a negative self-image that may prevent you from achieving the successes that you desire. It is my belief that no matter what position you hold within the automotive industry we are all shadow boxing in some way or another. So what can we do to overcome the negative…

It’s time for a continuation of the mini case study focused on the objectives established and challenges faced in building processes to develop, measure and manage OTDBs in the operating departments of an NCM client automotive dealership group. Landing Page Optimization
Here I was sitting in a landing page optimization course and the first thing they did was throw a formula at me. C=4m+3v+2(i-f)-2a.Thankfully, it really wasn’t a mathematical formula, just a conversion sequence that helped you visualize conversion. Dr. Flint McGlaughlin the founder of MECLABS, the world's…

After going in an out of dealerships for over 20 years, you start to see ( like superman sees through buildings) the good, the bad and the ugly without even looking for it. Each store has it's own characteristics and to the untrained eye it all looks like the same things are going on. Some dealerships are just lucky right? How can they be selling 50 cars more a month than the average dealership in that area? Must be product....No wait, maybe location, no has to be the 'deal" the…
